(United Nations) -- President Obama claims the world is a safer but still-dangerous place. In his fifth address to the UN General Assembly, Obama condemned the ongoing violence in Syria and said the international community must enforce a global ban on chemical weapons. He cited clear evidence that the Syrian regime of President Bashar al-Assad used chemical weapons in a recent, deadly attack.
President Obama cited improvement in the global economy, five years after the meltdown of the U.S. financial sector. He also warned that the global recovery is "fragile and unequal." The UN is holding its annual fall meetings in New York.
